I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma
Baptist University with a degree in Bible and a minor in
family psych. Following O.B.U. I attended the Focus on the
Family Institute in Colorado Springs, CO. After that semester
of training God led me to Cleburne Texas to serve in the
student ministry at Cleburne Bible Church.
While working there in Cleburne, God brought the most incredible woman into my life that I have ever met. Her name was Lindsey Daniels! We served together side by side in the student ministry for a semester. At the end of that semester we began to date and in August 2003 I asked for her hand in marriage!
We got married on February 21, 2004 at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas (Lindsey’s home church).
My relationship with God began when I was 5 years old, but I didn’t know anything about God’s grace until two years ago when I met my Lindsey. I always felt like God was somehow disappointed in my performance until recently. God is using my beautiful wife to teach me that I am loved no matter what I do, or who I am.
Lately I’ve been learning that there is much more pain in life than I ever knew. Amidst all the pain, I am learning what a gift comfort is. I am asking God to help me learn how to just rest in His love and how to give and receive comfort more freely.
I worked for 6 summers at Kanakuk Kamps (K-7), where I met one of my best friends in all the world – Doug Greene. He was one of my groomsmen and at a brunch on the morning of my wedding day he mentioned that there might be a spot for me on the team here in Nashville with FSM. I happened to have my resume with me there at the wedding day brunch! I gave it to him and Lindsey and I began to pray about the possibility of moving here. Feeling more and more like this was the place for us, we decided to come for a visit and attended FSM Sunday. In that service we were both felt great peace that this was God’s next step for our lives. I remember standing there with tears flowing down my face as I worshiped here for the first time and knew this was Church home for us!
