The Foundry

Overview

The Foundry is the ministry we have specifically geared towards our High School students, 9th through 12th grade. The ministry is called the Foundry because a Foundry is an establishment where the process of casting of metals is carried out. Our hope is that our ministry will be a spiritual foundry for high school students where they are shaped and molded into instruments that reflect God's glory. We do that in three main programs, the Foundry, 242 Groups and Big Wednesday. You can learn more about each program below.

The Foundry meets on Wednesday nights (7:30-9:00pm) in the Barn on the Fellowship Campus. During this time, we focus on Worship and the Word. The environment is one of relationships, corporate worship and the teaching of God's Word, but is carried out in a way that is not threatening to students who attend for the first time.

242 Groups provide a context for students and their leaders to engage together about deeper matters of life and Faith. Each 242 Group leader determines what time and where their group will meet. In almost all situations, 242 groups meet on Sundays in the homes of students or leaders.

Since the groups rely on consistent community and commitments from the members, a student is required to sign up for a 242 Groups. Pick up a sign up form at the Foundry, download the sign up form and return it to a leader or staff member, or contact Doug Greene.

Big Wednesday

Why is it called Big Wednesday? Because it's big and it's on Wednesday! Big Wednesday occurs on the first Wednesday of every month in the Barn on campus. It is designed to be the most non-threatening situation a student can attend in our ministry. It is focused on fun and relationships, and includes a brief message that exposes students to a relationship with Christ. Students who are not a part of our ministry at all are encouraged to come, and students who are a part of our ministry are encouraged to invite their friends.
